Head of Marketing

The Head of Marketing is FanServ’s first dedicated marketer and will play a pivotal role in shaping brand, voice, and market presence. This role requires someone who is not only a strategic thinker but also a strong executor. You will be responsible for creating and delivering compelling brand messaging, writing engaging content, and driving demand generation initiatives. The ideal candidate has proven success in enterprise B2B marketing and startup environments, and has experience working in the sports publisher world.

Responsibilities

  • Drive the development and execution of brand positioning, messaging, and storytelling that reinforces the company’s identity and value proposition.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure brand alignment and ensure marketing efforts support broader business objectives.
  • Marketing support for both demand (buy) and supply (publisher) sales teams (not campaign support). Develop collateral, decks, web site content to support sales.
  • Recommend and manage outside firms such as web site, designers, event schwag, PR.
  • Oversee the creation of high-quality content across various social media formats (blogs, case studies, whitepapers, etc.) that aligns with the company’s goals and targets.
  • Monitor social media trends, analyze performance, and pivot strategies.
  • Lead content calendar planning and support event marketing.
  • Create, manage and report against the marketing budget.

What you’ll need

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, or a related field.
  • 5+ years’ experience in B2B marketing, with 3+ years expertise in ad tech and media.
  • Vast understanding of the programmatic landscape.
  • High-level of productivity, prioritization, and managing up.
  • Good understanding of AI tools and the ability to use them to create content at a start-up pace.
  • Must have proven experience in social media: creating and leading content marketing initiatives, building brands, and driving engagement through different channels.
  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to collaborate across teams and manage cross-functional projects.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling stories for diverse audiences.
  • Highly creative, with a passion for content, branding, and staying ahead of marketing trends.
  • Passion for sports.

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Understanding of digital advertising formats, monetization approaches and ad technology terminology, and standard KPIs (e.g. reach, RPM/session, fill rates).
  • Experience in working in sports organizations
  • Experience in sports media/agencies

Compensation, Benefits And Perks

Salary based on experience. On top of the base salary, the benefits available for this position are:

    • Sports related holidays – Super Bowl Monday (day after Super Bowl); March Madness (first Thursday and Friday of men’s tournament); Sports Equinox (when all major sports leagues play on the same day).

  • $1,500 reimbursement for initial home office setup.

Location: NY Metropolitan area (Hybrid)

You will set up a home office and work predominantly from there, but FanServ has a co-working office in midtown where you will meet regularly with the CEO and sales staff.
